Week 1 - Sunday 7th September

Welcome to the first blog post on this site.
This week I've mostly focussed on getting this site up and running. I've written the homepage, about, and all the side hustle pages.
And now the first blog post...
These will hopefully be a weekly thing.
As you may know I've got a few side hustles on the go already, and plan to set up a few more this month. Then I'm going to try to run all 6 simultaneously while also working full time.
If you're not sure what the side hustles are, I've got a dedicated page for each one. But, so far, the side hustles are these:
Let's take a look at how I'm getting on with each, and the immediate plans:
SEO Agency
(What is this in a nutshell? I run the SEO for one local client, and I'm actively looking to take on more)
This is ongoing. I'm currently working with one client who pays $1330 a month (the majority of which is profit).
This week I'm meeting with someone from their team, and we're developing the most important keywords to target on their service pages.
No immediate plans to find other clients, but this is the side hustle that I think could scale the most rapidly if I really went for it (so watch this space).
Sports Coaching
(What is this in a nutshell? I run 1:1 coaching sessions for juniors at my local cricket club. I've played at a high standard myself, and still play on a Saturday.)
It's coming to the end of the current cricket season, and I'm still doing 2 kids per week coaching (but this is only £50 per week - $65 a week). This is for 2 hours work a week.
However, I'm planning to set up 1:1 sessions over the winter.
I'm hoping to get this sorted over the next 2 weeks. The sessions would start about the beginning of October.
I'd be doing about 6 hours to 8 hours per week. (£150-£200 a week - $202 to $270 per week).
I'm hoping to find some kind of sponsor to drive the price down for parents, and make it viable. The 1:1 sessions will have a big local impact on the quality of the juniors at the club, and I just want to make it viable for all parents, not just the richer ones. I'm going to be contacting a few local businesses about this over this coming week.
Ghostwriting
(What is this in a nutshell? I've written 5 non-fiction bestsellers in the past for my old business, and received 1000+5-star reviews on Amazon. I'm looking to write similar books and market them for businesses)
I'm still waiting to hear back from the business I have been in talks with about writing this book.
Nothing came back last week!
But I will keep you posted if there are any developments.
Niche Youtube Channel
(What is this in a nutshell? I have extensive experience of a particular 'make money online' niche that I've been operating in over the last 4 years. I looking to start a youtube channel with weekly content, and later monetise with courses or books)
I have done nothing with this yet, but hope to start this over the next two weeks, and batch the first four videos.
Faceless Youtube Channel
(What is this in a nutshell? A relaxing music channel with AI generated images and looped relaxing music. My son is creating the music.)
I have created some AI-generated images for this relaxing music channel, and my son has created the first soundtrack on Band-Lab.
It is three minutes long. The plan this week is to find a way to loop this 3 minute segment repeadedly into a 3 hour long video.
Then create the youtube channel with bio, image and name.
And post the first video (with artwork, description etc). Then be consistent, and post at the same every week for the foreseeable future.
Children's Book Resurrection
(What is this in a nutshell? 15 years ago I wrote a children's book. I am going to attempt to get it published, and I'm contacting literary agents.)
The book is written!
I just need to get started with this over the next two weeks.
Send a cover letter and synopsis to some carefully selected literary agents.
Hooded Hustler
(What is this in a nutshell? This site of course. X account and website)
Made big progress on this this week! What started out as just an idea about 10 days ago, is now this fully fledged site.
I've built a
I always build sites on Shopify these days (rather than wordpress), if I'm ever going to sell anything in the future.
Will I sell anything or not - who knows? But the possibility is there, and Shopify just makes it so much easier to set up products quickly.
Plan for this week:
- Set up the X account. I need bio, photo, links to this site
- Set up an email address and account, and link to a free email software (probably Kit.com)
- Start scheduling daily X posts
- One weekly blog
- One weekly newsletter when I have enough subscribers - maybe 20 to start with!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Right, that's pretty much it for this week. Thank you so much for reading along.
I'll be getting stuck into all of the above, and I look forward to next week's blog post.
