Turning $35,000 of Debt Into Freedom - One Side Hustle at a Time

I am the Hooded Hustler. I was self employed for the last 8 years, and I live in the UK. I had a pretty nice time of things for about 6 of the years I was self-employed, and life was good.

But over the last 18 months or so, my business took a massive nose-dive, and I went from being debt free for many years, to riddled with quite a few business and personal debts!

Dark times.

Now, I've managed to sell that business, and the business debts are more or less gone.

And now - from September 1st 2025, this is my site and project to document how I am going to pay off the remaining $35,000 in personal debts.

I'm starting a full time job in October, and that should more or less cover all my personal bills (for me and my family of wife and three kids).

So, everything I earn on top of that (or at least most), will be going towards these debts.

My aim is to pay everything off in the next 12 months. I need to get a new mortgage in about 15 months.

My credit rating is currently truly dire, so it is all hands to pump for the next year!

I've got a few side hustles that I'm currently doing anyway, plus a few I'm setting up this month. The main thing will be consistency!

And I'm under no illusions that some will work better than others. I can see myself focussing more on those than others.

But for now - follow along! I'm very much a normal guy, trying to blast out quite a normal amount of debt in quite a normal time-frame.

So, hopefully some of you find this journey inspiring, and it might inspire you to do something similar.

The aim is to document the journey on X, write a weekly blog on my progress, and set up a weekly newsletter as well where I can tell you all the no-holds barred truth about tackling debts with side hustles.
